In the latest issue of Shonen Jump's weekly media, One Piece fans were presented the ultimate story of a battle between Monkey D Luffy against Charlotte Katakuri, one of the commander of the dreaded Big Mom forces in the ocean.
They appear to be fighting each other in a long battle that reveals many things, including unexpected forces.
Luffy deals with Katakuri because he wants to save Sanji who is forced to marry one of Big Mom's children. Katakuri himself is the second son of the Big Mom family.
This fight not only uncovered the secrets of Katakuri's mouth that had been hidden behind his clothes, but fans can also see Luffy revealing the new Gear Fourth shape. It was revealed in the manga One Piece chapter 896, "Whole Cake Island".
In this chapter Luffy is portrayed as defeated after the Straw Hats pirate fell from a blow. While Katakuri, nicknamed Sweet Commander, stood tall before he collapsed.
His men who were also part of the Big Mom family speculated that the Katakuri had been defeated.
During the fight, Luffy can be practically overwhelmed. The reason, Katakuri is a devil-type devil of logia named "mochi-mochi". This fruit gives Katakuri the ability to change parts of his body into mochi cake.
Not only that, this well-built, long-legged antagonist has two haki, the unique power of the One Piece world that comes from ambition. Namely Kenbunshoku Haki to predict the future and Busoshoku Haki to harden certain body parts.
Although the end of the fight is already known, the bond between Luffy and Katakuri still seems to be intertwined. Because, Luffy told the Katakuri that He will return to defeat the Big Mom pirates.
