We're living in a wonderful age. because at this time , to put your ideas into work and actually turn them into benefit you don't need to waste your time going to class and spend hours just to know the basics , NO! that's history. Now with only a little basic knowledge of something , you can actually DO IT! whether it's writing screenplays and books or it's what I love and I'm sure many of you out there just want to do it to. yeah baby It's MAKING GAMES!
Today I'm talking about the most popular free engine out there , "UNITY". The Gamers know it , The Game makers love it. it's simple , doesn't need much coding knowledge and in one word it's awesome. But no matter how simple it is , your work is not going to be ready over one night. No , get it out of your head.
unity has the whole package , you can design stuff , you can code and you can make your animations. but it's up to you whether to use side programs or not. to make the "Assets" , which is basically everything that's inside your game from the characters to the sound and the animations(if you use one) , you can use other more expert softwares.
for example for 3D characters you can use 3D MAX. or simply you can ask a friend to make it for you(This is what I do) or even simpler you can download them from websites like free3d.com . there are many many good models in there , some are free and some you should pay for but don't worry they have good price , be sure to check it out , besides you get to support the guys who work hard to make the models , because believe me it's not easy.
That's pretty much it. with the right assets and watching some tutorials , that you can find almost everywhere these days(I used youtube), you'll be on your way to make your very own video game. It's not easy , I mean nothing is easy in this world , But believe me , "EVERYTHING IS DOABLE."
