The latest in the CRPG renaissance, Pillars of Eternity II's ships take us to the fantastical Deadfire archipelago. This new PC game might retain some of the more obtuse elements of Infinity Engine RPGs - brutal AD&D combat, isometric environments, and lots of reading - but this sequel is at least marginally kinder to newcomers.

Every step you take or nautical knot you sail in your customisable ship - with naval battles played out as an engrossing text adventure - is rooted in Pillars of Eternity II's lore.
We found the game to be excpetional in our Pillars of Eternity II review. Obsidian Entertainment have weaved quest and narrative together effortlessly to make you feel the artifice is all but invisible. Deadfire is an enticing, beautifully detailed place to explore with a motley crew of interesting allies. It is, in every sense of the word, an adventure.
