New Demo - Learning and improving Unity3D knowledge Everyday.

Okay, a new demo for you Steemians, i spent a lot of time learning about level of detail, adapting quality settings, adding shaders and ways to render your assets etc etc... and a looot and lot of other quarks and kinks have been worked out, not everything, but it's going well.

Major improvements :

  • Tightened Steemdya's Controls a lot
  • Separated idle from running and now we have a smoothed accelleration from idle to full run speed
  • Jumping ability linked to a jumping animation, still need to script out not to use 2 or 3 times the jump animation in mid air if you push space in mid air again.
  • Level of detail adjustments
  • Added realtime hard and soft shadows
  • Reworked the colors and how the map is rendered overall to have a more "cartoony" / platformer feel

Minor improvements :

  • Camera is tighter in it's movements
  • Tightened walking to running speed for a more responsive character
  • Added water shaders
  • Added fogging in distance
  • Added ambiant occlusion for higher quality settings
  • Fantastic quality setting can tax your system a lot now
  • Added an half broken longer idle animation, the export / import didn't went as good as i wanted.

IMPORTANT :

Quick Graphical recommandations :

  • Use the good quality settings if you own something along the line of a 1 Tflop gpu / non overclocked 750ti
  • Use Fantastic quality settings if you own at least a gtx 1060 but i think you may get around 40 fps.

Many other things changed, but too tired to start to list them and clearly, i am not in a state to remember everything...

There is something hidden in the map, not sure if anyone will find what it is ^^.

I really would like to, but the coding / interaction with the platform aspect is on Hitmanchoi's shoulders, i am only a 2D / 3D artist /modeler / animator, i got good skills to integrate my assets into unity3D, from the coding side and integration to steemit side, Hitmanchoi @roundbeargames is the man.

But i really wish some actions in the game were connected to the platform, like leaderboards allowing you to get exposure and upvotes, or gaining exp / steem for some of the actions / performance of play in the game. That was one of our initial goal for the game when we thought about it and brainstormed around it.

It's only in a very early alpha stage tho.

can you actually earn steem or give upvotes with this game? Please tell me you integrated a steem account somehow for the player, to allow multiplayer upvotes and trading of items for steem/SBD etc?
