Playing FPShooter Games for [Crypto]: WARFIELD airdrop + Beyond...

in #games6 years ago (edited)

I reckon crypto-fuelled online gaming is going to get interesting, for all sorts of games. There's already the ultimate gambling game everyone know - (market) Poker  (what token/cryptos would YOU place on the table right now?), but what about all the others, where unique combos of fast-thinking, skill and know-how are vital, like for FPS (First-Person Shooters).

'Skin in the Game'

The idea of taking someone out and gaining other player's crypto instantaneously would surely add proper weight to the expression 'skin in the game'. Also the possibilities for tomb raiding and discovering 'real' hidden treasure boxes etc.

Already popular we have Fortnite, where you can stream and get given donations from your supporters. Jacked-in streamers can gain huge attention, sponsorship and followings from this new, emerging 'e-sports' era. These folk need to be good, but generally need to be entertaining to watch too, ie, they engage with their audience, they're funny or cool in some kind of way, exchanging banter in meetups and group online play (the most popular).

Very quickly, we're going to see pro crypto-garnering players become expert at using maps, load-outs and their team-mates to gain the upper hand in FPS and Battle Royale-type games, and gain the most crypto.

Sure, you'll be able to go down this road with some popular title. Personally, I'm less interested in this aspect. I always die quickly in FPS anyway, where someone with better gear (mouse, chair, keyboard etc), some mysterious upgrade or map-tipoff, some mod or even hack (or maybe who just have quicker thinking/reactions) dispatches me off in no time. Any of these games where players lose crypto too easily is never going to be any fun. Fortnite, at least, is a game where everyone starts over with nothing. How much would you stake on your own in-game character and ability, and still enjoy the experience?

Beyond...

More interesting to me will be crypto-games with a level playing field, and rewards for co-operative gameplay or creativity (including custom level design). I remember Second Life had its own currency, but it was all just too early. Crypto is maturing, and this area will begin to properly engage. Gaming itself could get - a lot - more serious. Ever see 'The Running Man?' There's a lot of excitement to look forward to, of course, but in some ways, this could be a shame too. The innocent days of gaming for gaming sake may fall to kids only. For mobile apps, picking up titbits of crypto, for trying things out or getting the top scores could be massive.

WARFIELD

Anyway... ready to follow a developing project right now, and stock up on game tokens before such a game takes off? Check out the WARFIELD Airdrop now available. The game looks good enough. And it'll be on Ethereum.

It's easy to get over 100 GLDR by doing the usual things below, directly on the site. It comes with its own wallet. Just a login required. KYC can be done later.

- Signing up to Twitter [50 GLDR]
- Signing up on Youtube [50 GLDR]
- Joining Telegram [50 GLDR]
- Subscribing to Newsletter updates on the game, referring friends etc...

You can also purchase GLDR with 80% off, as the countdown is currently still counting.

GAMING + CRYPTO

Let me know what you think of this project, and of the idea of losing crypto in multiplayer games.

Will games really get more enhanced when their ecosystems are powered-up by crypto incentive? Know of any other projects?

Sort:

It is a cool idea but I think we need to move to less risk averse gaming experiences like play-to-earn. But this could be a big watch on twitch

Glad to see its not all gambling games. Blockchain is really useful.

what do you think of the Warfield project? Will you be playing?
