After recently catching my Shiny Mew, it was now the time to catch Shiny Celebi. I was already able to get Shiny Celebi for a quite long time, because we've received a Special Research "Distracted by Something Shiny" quite some time ago. I completed the majority of the steps a long time ago already. But when we were informed Shiny Mew would become available after GO Tour: Kanto, I decided that I would not complete this Special Research until after catching Shiny Mew. Just because Mew is 1st generation and Celebi is 2nd generation.
I was already on the second to last step of the Special Research. Just still had to claim those rewards. I thought the encounter at the end of the step would lead to Celebi, but it wasn't the case. Instead one of the encounters in the step led to Whimsicott, which I didn't have in my Pokédex yet. So catching this Whimsicott gave me the Whimsicott Pokédex registry.
Now I'll be able to check if I have a Lucky Cottonee to evolve into Whimsicott as well to have it Lucky in the Pokédex. Then I can just keep the best ones afterwards.
After completing that second to last step, I had a new encounter with Jessie and James, who've been heavily featured in this Special Research. The final step was already completed without any additional tasks, as is the case with most Special Research. So I claimed the rewards and then got the chance to capture Shiny Celebi.

Unfortunately for this one I have a 2 star. I still feel like we should've just received a 100% IV for these just because we can only catch them once and they can't be traded. So there wouldn't be any harm in giving everyone a 100% IV, that would seem fair to me as that way everyone has the same for these that we can obtain just once.
