Before I can even start building the game, there are things I need to do first. I like to write out all the rules and identify the primary game functions on a piece of paper. I outline the concept and the process of writing it out starts to get my inspiration flowing. Then I need to create sprites, icons and textures. This takes weeks and is not as straightfoward a procss as it should be.

Nothing creative is so simple, but rather what the end user sees is simply the end result, rather than the hours of agony trying to make squares fit into round holes, and having to learn new concepts in order to solve problems that stand in the way of some small part of the intended whole.

Sometimes the game turns out completely different, and that is ok too. To create is to play, in the realm of imagination and in reality. Finding where the two meet is an adventure and a challenge.
