I recently started a blog in Portuguese about my work creating translations. However, due to limitations of where it is hosted, I can't offer an English version without mixing everything on the same page. Therefore, I decided to publish it here, allowing developers to follow my work while also providing insight for others interested in translating games into their native languages.
A few years ago, I started working on game translations but had to set it aside due to life's challenges. In February 2025, I decided to pick it up again, focusing on visual novels and other "niche" games. Unfortunately, Portuguese still tends to be overlooked in games of this genre. When a game like this is available in Portuguese, it’s often due to AI or similar tools.
My goal with this project is to create free translations with the highest possible quality, thus enabling a good experience for those who do not speak the original language. Although I offer some options (Ko-fi, APOIA.se, Buy Me a Coffee and Coinsend) for those who want to support my work more directly, I will never limit access to my translations with any monetary barrier, even due to their license. All the Portuguese text of my translations is under the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license. This allows anyone to distribute or remix my work if they give me credit, maintain the same license and do not make commercial use.
If anyone feels that certain parts of the translation could be improved, they’re free to fork my translation and make any changes they deem appropriate. Despite the commercial limitations, developers can integrate my translations into free games, distribute them as free DLCs for commercial games, or simply link to the translations repositories in their official communities.
Another important aspect of this project is transparency in the distribution and creation process of the translations. Since almost all the games I intend to translate are made using the Ren'Py engine, it is very simple to distribute the translations without the need for installers/executables or any other "obscure" means that could generate some risk for those who use the translation. The translations are basically text files/scripts, which the community itself can analyze with any simple text editor and ensure that there is nothing malicious embedded. In fact, this entire "auditing" process can be done online even through my GitHub and the copies available on GitLab / GitGud / Codeberg. In the case of games made with other engines, I will only start translating if there are ways to offer a similar level of transparency.
I'm currently working on three projects: one longer translation and two shorter ones. It would make sense to focus on one game at a time, but this way I can work on longer translations while releasing others without any significant hiatus. I'm also working on all three games at once so I can streamline my processes more quickly. If all goes well, I'll be able to finish one of the shorter translations by April, as well as release a partial version of the longer translation.

I first learned about the Hive blockchain 2-3 years ago while researching web3 games, but I've been interested in crypto for much longer. The option to use reward.app is available in the settings on peakd, so I decided to try it out. To avoid mixing personal matters with topics related to these translations, I thought it would be better to create new accounts to develop this work and talk about it.

No. I almost created an account just to try out Splinterlands, but card games aren't really my thing and I realized that the investment needed to try to be minimally competitive within the game would be too high.
