Kim "Geguri" Se-yeon has signed with ROX Orcas, a professional Overwatch esports team in Korea. Geguri (18yrs old) has been playing Overwatch at a high level for some time. In June 2016 she was the center of some controversy having been accused of aimbot hacking. Her aim was so good spectators thought no one could have such precise aim she had to be cheating.
Geguri, determined to prove she was not cheating, live streamed herself playing in a studio environment to prove she was just that good. Blizzard Korea also came out to confirm she she was not cheating helping to clear her of these accusations.
Since then she has been on a professional Overwatch team but the team simply weren't good enough to qualify for OGN Apex. Geguri recently joined ROX Orcas, a much better team, and they have just qualified to compete in OGN Apex.
This is really cool! I have always wondered why we don't see more female professional esports players. I completely understand why men's and women's divisions are separate in other traditional sports but I don't see why men and women can't compete against each other in esports. Hopefully Geguri helps pave the way for more women to join pro esports teams.
You know human female have exact similar body parts like mans except the sexual ones. But yep most girls didn't enjoy gaming. They prefer more rational jobs . BTW thanks for information. Didn't know it before. Stay cool man.
That's awesome! Yay to a female game player. I will definitely tune in to see that. I don't fully get why there aren't as many female gamers (since I am one but casual at best), but it will be great to watch her. If she's as good as she sounds it will be tons of fun to watch. Definitely don't want to ever play against her though (which is obviously unlikely).
