RE: Would HIVE Benefit From a Blockchain SDK for Unreal or Unity?

in #gaming4 years ago

There are a couple of projects that I know of on Hive that are creating a game in Unreal Engine 4 that will be for the PC. None of them are far enough along to start working out the blockchain aspect of things.

I know my own game is still a couple of years out. UE4 has made a lot of things a breeze.

I could see some powerful games coming out of there if someone had a clue what they were doing already and we made integrating the Hive blockchain easy into their project.

If there are some already there must be others not willing to share what they been up to till it's closer to release. Perhaps some of them are working on mobile games. One you get the ball rolling and people start talking about building games on Hive in private indie discords and elsewhere things could start to take off even further. Even more so if you get a couple of the bigger YouTube channels that are focused around making a game talking about it.

I know IBT is using UE4.. and you make a good point. For every game that we know about, there's likely a couple more that are very early or being kept private until they're further along.

The idea would be to build now for the future. When an SDK is ready it can be shown off and publicized. Once there is awareness within the scene, then it's on the radar of devs, for consideration for various elements of their game when in planning stages. This is building for long term success. Obviously this is not short term gain, this is investment in the long game!

There is at least one whale vote that I can think of that could get behind this.
