Albion Online comes out on 17th July, but what is it? Albion Online is a medieval sandbox MMORPG. It has an open world and player driven economy. It doesn’t have specific classes but rather classes depending on what you decide to wear. You also get your own island to create farms for plants and/or animals.
Albion Online has a player driven economy so the prices for everything are dependent on how well the world is doing, each town has an auction house and bank but they are separate for each town, so if you list an item in the auction house in one town then it will not be available to purchase in another. Gathering professions can include killing mobs for hide, mining nodes for ore and much more.
Players can also build and manage their own building and/or crafting areas and force you to pay a bit of tax to use it to craft items, so traveling to other towns to check how much tax players have set on establishments is a must. This way, you can maximise the amount of profit you gain for crafting gear. Another building that players can create are shops, same with crafting areas, selling in some one else’s shop forces you to pay some tax of the price that gear sells for.
Guilds and being social are a big part of this game as you do not get enough skill points to master everything. Being in a guild gives you allies to help with dungeons or raids, they can also help you travel with your goods from your professions (raw goods such as hide, wood, ore, etc. or crafted goods such as armour, weapons etc.)
Traveling in the world is a major aspect as different areas have different minerals and materials, so the further you venture, the more people are willing to pay for goods. Be careful though because you could come across some players that prefer to be bandits and fight you for your cargo, they salvage your items instead of crafting their own. When you die, you also drop everything that you are wearing and carrying so be careful when traveling through unknown land!
