Cool Compilations & Awesome Anthologies - Game Sack

in #gaming8 years ago

Ever since consoles had more than enough memory and the ability to easily play older, less powerful games we've been privy to relases which feature multiple older games on them. Usually games that were highly revered back in their day... but not always as you'll see with a some games on a couple of these discs. But are compilations always good? Do they always represent the games well or do they screw things up when porting them over? We take a look at a bunch of the good, bad and ugly results here!

That was a great video! I discovered a bunch of games I missed during the 80's. I dont know why capcom packed a disc with 3 different versions of street fighter 2. While I love that game, that seems like a lame compilation disc. But some of those compilations were awesome and looked like they were well worth the money. Thanks for bringing back some memories!

When it comes to compilations, you can't do much better than Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on the PS3 and Xbox 360. It includes 40 Sega Genesis games, as well as 10 bonus games from either the Master System or the Arcades. Not to mention, you can get for about 15 dollars these days, so its a great value!

Fun video and some great compilations featured. The Namco Museum discs on the PS1 especially.

I've been playing a lot of the Capcom Arcade Cabinet and I was wondering how you think the games featured in that compilation compare to the Capcom Generation discs? If you've played it of course.

It was actually the first time I've played Ghosts n Goblins and I gotta agree that the controls are infuriatingly sloppy sometimes. I don't know if it's the fault of the emulation, my complete lack of skill or if it was like that in the actual arcade. ;)
