Well there is a mode that is easier so you don't have to optimise your characters too much for battle. I'm gonna play it again after on tactician mode and try doing it either solo or with only 2 party members.. There are so many different choices as well for every quest. You can finish a quest 2-3 different ways usually.

Only hardest mode with less characters is the most fun!! Imho!!
