In past few weeks, I tried many mobile games and the one stands above the rest. Star Wars: Force Arena is a very good mix of Clash of Royale and MOBA genre. It has very addictive gameplay, awesome graphics and „beloved“ Skinner Box.
The game is set in Star Wars universe, obviously. You have a leader, which is some famous character from SW, like Luke, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren etc…So leader is character, that you can controll and then you have troops, which are pre-selected before a match by you and they work like a deck of cards. You enter the battlefield with one leader and deck of „troops“ and you try to destroy yours opponents base, before he does destroy yours. Like I said, very similar to Clash of Royale. The first few matches felt great!
However, almost everything in this game can be upgraded and where do you think you can get these upgrades? Right, lootboxes. Don’t get me wrong, this game is free and the devs have to eat and to be honest you earn so many lootboxes by playing, that it is freaking irritating and not because I don’t like opening gifts, but because every lootbox has a timer. You can’t open lootbox right now, but you have to wait many and many hours. At the top of that, you have to wait till the first lootbox is opened, before you can open another one. So everytime your lootbox is ready for openning, you go and open this little fucker. No mather where you are, because who wouldn’t want that sweet sweet loot, right? Wait, there is more, every 3 or so hours, you will get another FREE lootbox that you can open! So the only thing you are doing, is waiting and opening lootboxes.
After 4 days, I had to uninstall this game, because there is so little gameplay and so many waiting for box to open. It literally ruined the whole game and that is a shame, because the gameplay is so good, but you have to get better troops somehow…I honestly would pay for a game like this, but I won’t be waiting for RGN Lootbox to open. It feels like I am working, it is not fun it is a Skinner Box..
