RE: Finding Humanity - Detroit: Become Human Playthrough [Connor part 2]

in #gaming6 years ago

Hey thanks, been pretty busy with work this last week and haven't been online. I do think this story does sort of touch on some of the moral and technical issues posed by a future where we create lifelike AI robots. There have been some negative reviews of the game based around the director's decision to sexualize AI robots in the brothel and also to have the abusive relationships explored. But when those reviewers thought it was morally repugnant to include those ideas, I thought it was right on the nose and something we should expect to be commonplace.

I mean really there were news stories about how the one sex doll brothel in Russia had to stay open 24 hours a day during the World cup because there were so many people frequenting the establishment. And those are not walking talking emoting machines they are just rubber dolls. I've been more and more disillusioned with reviews for games and movies and tv shows on the whole as of late. Instead of reviewing if a game is good or not they spend more time arguing social politics. Not that social politics isn't an interesting topic, it just really has no impact on if a game is fun or not.

Good to read your deep insights. 🙂
