You knew it was coming, most of my blog posts were about gaming and I have returned back to it. In my time away I have found some amazing ass games. This one.... this one is a special game for sure. I might even put this game in one of the top 10 I ever played.. This gem is Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart SRB2k for short or Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Kart on twitch. We both know that we do not use that catagory for twitch. But what is this game?
Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart
Well, it is a bonafide Mario Kart open sourced clone. A mod of a mod turned into its own thing personally I think it is the greatest Kart Game of all time for plenty of reasons. First off it has a Retro Sonic touch to it. Reminds me of Sonic 1-2-3- in 3d which by itself is impressive. The closest thing I can think of the graphics is something that was on the 32x mixed in with SMK or even CTR or MK64.... You can even set the graphics to 3d.
Second you could call it m.u.g.e.n. Kart. Mugen is an open sourced fighting game which litterally has every character you could think of and more. The same goes with levels. It is all fighting games in one. Much like mugen this game has 100s of characters and levels. Your favorite Nintendo chars will most likely be seen in this game.

Third, since the game is open sourced people can add anything to the game. With that you can your own servers, mechanics. A popular mod on this game is wipeout. Which means the game continually gets faster and faster till you hit a wall and blow up. Another is the tether mode which makes it so you need to work in tangem with another player to traverse every stage. Based off of the game Knuckles Chaotix. the mode Is pictured below.

Fourth the creators stated that they wanted to return to skill based kart racing mechanics. To me what this means it is a combination of Mario Kart 64/ Diddy Kong Racing/ CTR. The game has boost stacking drifting much like those games. Some of things you have to battle within this game include, speed traps where you overshoot an inch and fall into a pit, slopes that are extremely high, excessive jumping, insane level design, using the levels to help you race, glitches, weapons that hit hard.

Fifth the community, much like most modern games SRB2K has a raving fanbase. While tiny it is some of the most passionate gaming people I have met. How to play
It is pretty simple. Go to this link https://mb.srb2.org/showthread.php?t=43708 create a folder extract in that folder.
Then get this right here at this link. https://mb.srb2.org/showthread.php?t=49381 it is a exe mod for the game put it into the folder. Click on the .exe mod. This allows for you to have uncapped FPS by going to this setting and putting it on uncapped
Then go into open gl and customize the graphics how you want.
Next you go to options>control options>player 1 control options>gamepad options make sure your controller is selected and back out of the screen.
then in the control setup you press the corresponding buttons to what you want the controls you want to be.
After that you head to multiplayer connect online and choose a server you want and then you can play!
