Hattori Hanzo
Who has never heard of this name?.... yup Hattori Hanzo which I never knew this ninja character is only a fictional character in SNK-made game, but after I browse the name of the ninja character Hattori hanzo has a real story, you can read it on Wikipedia
Known also as Hattori Masanari, he is dubbed the "Hanzo the Devil" or "Hanzo the Ghost." Hanzo Hattori has some of the most popular achievements recorded in history. The first is when his hometown, Iga province, was targeted by Oda Nobunaga.
Despite the defeat, Hattori's brilliant tactics enabled him to overcome Nobunaga's attacks from 1579. In the end, Oda Nobunaga had to attack Iga himself, backed by an enormous army, to handle Hattori's hometown.
Hattori himself survived the carnage that Nobunaga did. He then served under Ieyasu Tokugawa. His subsequent achievements relate to the unifying Japanese Shogun candidate. He saved the Ieyasu family several times, including securing Ieyasu by guiding him across the Iga area.
Although Hanzo Hattori is known as a true ninja, Hanzo is more often fighting with spears than using shuriken and other ninja equipment. He is even known as the expert of the spear fight. So rather than the costumes as worn at the Samurai Showdown as well as Nioh, the original Hattori more often wore samurai-style armor.
According to legend, Hanzo also has a magical jutsu-jutsu a la Naruto. It is said that he can move in an instant, predict the future, and influence people's minds. Whether or not the news about this miracle is, of course, unknown.
There is a story that Hattori eventually died at the hands of his rival, Fuma Kotaro. But the truth about the event is also questionable.

I've actually been doing some "historical" gaming posts lately, covering noteworthy games released in certain years (just made two about 98 and 2000) and Samurai Showdown as an older game I remember playing it on an arcade machine inc a local grocery store as a kid :) Also played it just recently as a PC port.
