We have come to the end of another week.
I have to report that all the issues during the mid-week update have been resolved.
Delegation is working
Creating your 1st Hero with Hivesigner is fixed.
So what are we up to now?
This is an interesting question. The main gamer & server are stable.
Our next goal was to get the barbarian rolled out to everyone. He is proving difficult to work into the existing code base. (it wasn't really built for scaling)
So we have been hard at work on our Season 1 server.
Season 1 Server
What is this?
Well, we are going to run a main/open world that is constantly going on.
While this world exists we will run a separate Season world.
Logging into the Season, you will have to make a new account and start from Level 1.
At the end of the Season you will be able to bring a certain # of Hero's / Items back into the main/open world.
Do I have to play the Season?
No of course not, you can continue to just play the Open World.
CODE BASE
So will having troubles with the barbarian coding, as a team we decided to scrap our entire code base and rewrite the game from the ground up. This new code is what we will be deploying on the Season server.
If I get sometime this next week, I will attempt once again to get the barbarian into the old code base.
I want new things!!! Now!!!
So do we.
So currently the gameplay for Holybread goes like this.
1) Do a Quest - gain XP & Gold
2) Randomly find a chest and get gear
3) Use the shopkeeper to look for better gear
4) Battle in the Arena
5) Buy potions / recruit Heros
Our Season 1 server will have the following areas:
- Camp - send Hero's out & equip them
- Tavern - recruit new Hero's (using relics)
- Arena - Battle other players (PvP)
- Dungeons - fight your way through the dungeons and discover, witch's currency, items for your hero's and if you complete the quest relics & a chance at item set pieces (PvE Leaderboard using relics)
- Witch - She will grant you buffs for your Hero's or put Curses upon your enemies, for her unique currency pieces
- Blacksmith - He will repair your items or melt down your olds into scrap pieces,
- Marketplace - all items in the game, witch's currency, blacksmith scrap's, Hero's can be traded on the marketplace to other players. All transactions will be recorded & settled on the HIVE blockchain.
8)No Gold, Barter Economy: If you could tell from above gold will disappear and the entire in-game economy will be trading based & all items can be sold to other players.
Many players want us to make gold a token on HE or let you trade gold to other players, we feel this is a better solution.
Why should I play the Open world then?
We are using the season servers to see what works and what doesn't. Somethings will move up to the open world game/code base some will not.
Most likely this 1st season will see a large number of things moving to the main/open world as it is a new code base.
In future season, features will only be found in that season.
So if you love something in Season 2 you may have to wait until Season 5 to enjoy it again.
I want to make a point. Anything you have earned on the main/open world server will not be lost. If we replace it, we will do an exchange.
So a lot of things are coming but the main game will not see the large number of changes we have been pushing lately, as we are focusing on the Season 1 code base right now.
