Expensive Nintendo Switch Game Prices

in #gaming8 years ago

The price of gaming is already expensive as it is, but it seems first party Nintendo games are even more expensive.

Mario Odyssey

Kirby

Yoshi

Metroid

Most of the 1st party games are around $99.99. Even at $79.99 games are overpriced, especially with all the dlc now. Just keep in mind, this is preorder pricing and it's subject to change.

In USD, Nintendo Switch games are in the $60 range and below. I wouldn't exactly call that particularly expensive. I would call that the market standard especially for something on a new platform.

Yeah that's alright but 60 usd is about $80 cad. It's listed at nearly $100 cad however.

I think it's ridiculous when the price of 5 games is about the same as the price of the console itself. I say this as a father who's just bought the console with 3 games for his son, all for around £400!

I agree, I haven't bought any brand new games because of it. I either buy used, wait for a digital sale or borrow. So a lot of the time they don't really get money out of me. If it was a fair price however I would get them in a heartbeat. I vote with my wallet. What I don't get is why digital games are the same price?

It's strange pricing indeed - I looked for Minecraft Story Mode earlier today, which is on pre-order (releasing on Aug 25) for £34.99 at Amazon, but saw it available right now on the Nintendo store for £19.99. I'm sure there's an error on the Nintendo Store site!

I know in the US if you use amazon prime for pre orders you get 15% off. I am not a huge fan of pre ording games, but for nintendo especially Mario games I am not worried about getting my moneys worth.

Mario Odyssey looks great. Can't wait to play.

those prices are insane
