The Battle Royale genre for shooting games has massively exploded in popularity over the past few year's, riding mainly on the success of Fortnite and PUBG. Both those titles have naturally made their way onto smartphones (and Android) in the form of Fortnite Mobiles and PUBG Mobile. After a succesful Beta run, Activision's Call of Duty is now attempting to break into the Mobile scene with Call of Duty: mobile
They earlier reported on the Call of Duty: Mobile Beta, and how it tried to provide the familiar Call of Duty experience in the new Battle Royale genre and on Mobile, no less. The game in its Beta state featured multiplayer modes like Free4All, Search & Destroy, Team Deathmatch and Frontline as well as a zombie mode for bot-based singleplayer. You could also play as some of the more iconic characters from the COD universe, and also customize your character and weapons using the in-game currency (similar to how all other free-to-play games allow you to do so). Note that the previous beta may no longer work as in-game assets and the apk may have been updated as the beta progressed.
Now, Activision has opened up pre-registrations for the official public launch of Call of Duty: Mobile on both Android and iOS. The game will be a standalone title in the CoD universe, and will be a free-to-download title (note that they do not use the word free-to-play, so we are unsure of theimplicationhs here). There will be more pre-launch Betas for those who have pre-registered before the title launches publicly. With regards to minimum device specifications, it would be safe to presume that the game would run properly on flagships, and mid-rangers should also be able to play. However, if you have a lower end device, you should be prepared to face heating issues and performance hiccups. Price is yet to be announced.
