[Bring back childhood memories with some pixel-art video games]
Welcome back to my blog everyone. How are you doing today? In this special day, I would like to share another information about video games. This time, I am going to give you some kind of review about video games that was released recently but have a very unique graphic to it. Want to guess what? Yes, it have pixel-art graphic. Do you remember those old games that you play when you were kids, or the games that that was released in the 90s, those games from the console that perhaps you play from your friend's house? Compare to current games, those games have the graphic where the character in it look like a building blocks. So, here, I am going to share some of video games that look like old games but was released recently.
So, what is pixel-art graphic video games? What is it pixel-art actually? Well, pixel-art is an art such as drawing in a digital form where the image or the picture edited by using a software on the pixel level. Pixel-art graphic video games was originally created for the majority of 8-bit and 16-bit computers and video game consoles. The graphics also mainly used in some of other limited system such as graphic calculators.
Talking about the term of Pixel-art, it was originally published for the first time by two guys from Xerox Alto Research Center named Adele Goldberg and Robert Flegal. They was introduced the term to public in 1982. To create or to modified objects or characters in pixel-art graphic video games sometimes called "spriting". This term is actually come from the community that made pixel-art graphic as their hobbyist.
Alright, enought talking about what is it pixel-art. Now, let's start exploring some of video games that was released in modern era where they still use pixel-art graphics. In this article, I am going to give some of those games. The games that on the list in this article are for android platform. You can download all the game in the list from google play store, I will also give you the link to the games. The popularity of android nowadays really bring a lot of opportunity such as this, we are now able to play some of old looking graphic video games in the high specification hardware. With this games, I personally hope that we can bring back our sweet childhood memories from the old days. Oke, Let's start with the games lists.
SLAYIN
SLYIN is a video game that was offered by FDG Entertainment, GmbH & Co.KG in google play store. This video game is available for free to download, it has in-app purchase system where you need to spend some money if you want to buy items that are available in the game to help you play the game. The latest update of this video game was on May 11, 2015. In order to play the game, you android version must be 2.3.3 in the minimum.
In this video game, you as the player will be tested on your endurance as the game is an endless type of game. The retro graphic it has combine with the chiptune soundtrack it has is really bring back those sweet childhood memories. The gameplay in this game is fairly simple, you only need to destroy all the enemies that seem to appear from the ground. At the beginning, you will choose a hero that will you played. There are three heroes available to choose from. a knight, wizard, and knave. You will play slaying all the enemies as many as you can. While playing the game, the level will be increased and you will get more powerful equipment and also spell along the way. However, once you die, the game is over. There are no life in this video game like in any other games.
The player in this game will adventure through a lot of locations and fight with a dozen of monsters. The monsters are different from each locations. At the end of a level, you will need to fight a boss. The player will also have to fight the legend a giant dragon in this game in order to retrieve the treasure. However, it would not be an easy fight. This video game have many features as well. These features include 6 unique character to choose from, a lot of weapons, armor, and spells. There are more than 100 challenging quest in this game as well. The game also have three game modes available. And to add some more fun, you can compete with your friend who got the highest score on google play game services.

PIXEL DUNGEON
Pixel Dungeon is a video game that was offered by watabou. The video games fall into a role playing video game genre. This video game considered to be a traditional rougelike video games. Roguelike is fall into a role playing video games, but it was more like the sub-genre of it. In the video game, the level is randomly generated, the graphic of this video game have tile-based graphic. Just like the game we talked above, this video game also have pixel-art graphics. The interface of this video game is also very simple.
In term of the gameplay, the video game also have a very simple gameplay. At the beginning, you as the player need to chose a character or hero from four heroes that are available. They are warrior, mage, rouge, and hunters. Each of this character will have different capabilities and strength. Take warrior as an example, this character will start the game with 11 points of strength and with a unique short swords. The sword can be reforged later in order to upgrade to another weapons. It also have some disadvantages such as less proficient with missile weapon.
In term of the story line, the player of this game will play the game inside a dungeon that lies under a city. The upper level of the dungeon is actually a sewer system. The player need to to navigate through the dungeon looking for the keys in order to open a certain sell. The main objective is to look for an exit, when the player found this exit, the game will progress into the next level. There are a lot of item that will help the player navigate inside the dungeons.
Pixel Dungeon is an open-source video game, the developer of the game also asked for help to make the game better. The game is still under the development, the developer ask for help from the players in order to report if there is any bugs in it.
