RE: The Daily Meme #727!

It is interesting how different structures have different results.

A tribe can have a positive effect when it delegates coins to a user. This is especially true when one delegates to a newbie. Users who learn that they can benefit from curation are more likely to stick with the platform.

In contrast, delegating to a "curation gang" has a negative effect on the HIVE-O-Sphere. Such gangs concentrate the rewards on the participation in the gang.

Gangs that autovote or that give preferential treatment to gang members magnify their negative impact. Such gangs divert brain driven votes to machine driven votes.

Outsiders look at the distribution of the rewards and conclude that HIVE is rigged. These games don't attract users. They drive people away.

@antisocialist! You Are Alive so I just staked 0.1 $ALIVE to your account on behalf of @ yintercept. (1/10)

The tip has been paid for by the We Are Alive Tribe through the earnings on @alive.chat, feel free to swing by our daily chat any time you want, plus you can win Hive Power (2x 50 HP) and Alive Power (2x 500 AP) delegations (4 weeks), and Ecency Points (4x 50 EP), in our chat every day.

Imo, we should have a 500mv cap on voting from the pool, observed as a matter of respect for others, but I'm just some random voice on the interwebz.
Nobody is saying that one can't hold more than that as hp, but, as a matter of respect for others that play this game also, a self imposed discipline would go a long ways toward remediating our rep in the market.

Thanks for speaking out.

I tend to upvote new accounts and accounts that are struggling figuring that the people who are struggling need more encouragement than the ones getting the whale upvotes.

Sadly, the coin distribution hasn't been getting better on HIVE or any of the derivatives.
