The food dehydrator.. only $64.00!

in #garden8 years ago (edited)

I purchased a food dehydrator this weekend in an effort to better use the mass amounts of produce coming out of my garden. I went for a basic one. $64.00 later. I have Zucchini chips, some dried banana peppers and some dried Fresno Chilies. Next on the list will be more Zucchini, basil, rosemary, tomatoes and jalapenos! I have been getting ready for fall/winter which is coming soon. I miss my garden so much during that time that it is great to go to the cabinet and pull out whatever Ive dehydrated, canned or pickled and enjoy it. While you other suckers are running to the store for tomatoes for football Sunday chili. I just go to my cabinet :) Oh yah. I am a happy little green thumber over that.

Excellent idea! Do you have any pictures to share? I'd like to see those Fresno Chiles (you know, cuz I'm @papa-pepper).

I just added some to the post. Apparently I failed at that the first time. Gotta love Mondays.

MUCH BETTER. I like it even more now!

Theyre really sweet and spicy this year. T'was a good crop.
