Garden Project Part Five

The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men.

Well, talk about a change of direction! Not only did we have an unexpected visitor/lodger as in babysitting my brother-in-law's rabbit Sydney (Turns out it is a female and only had a male name after their trip to Australia and their favourite city.) I do hope that when they pick it up they do not find out it has gender issues lol.) So to top that, we had installed an RSPB bird box, something I thought that would only be a home to spiders, but lo and behold, we had a family of goldfinches move in....Tried many times to get a photograph of them but they have removed ever so elusive or too fast for me to snap a shot.

Syndey the Rabbit being closely watched by the dogs... Well one of them!
With no movement forward with my garden project, I should feel really disappointed, however I think the break is good, and it has allowed me to contemplate more on how to move forward and to make this a space that is not only tranquil but supports wildlife. With that in mind my plans of the pond now include the idea of having a completely separeate wildlife section, untouched by human hand and letting nature take its course. It was something I had in my previous garden and it did encourage a lot of frogs and other wildlife, hopefully, we can establish a similar habitat.

Although I am not what is classed as a 'tree-hugger' I do believe we have to not only live our own lives but co-exist with the other creatures that inhabit our planet, and encourage them in which way we can. Hey you never know, I may get a photograph of the family of goldfinches to share in my next update.

Thanks for reading.
