Organic certification is just as impossible and expensive in South Africa. Commercial is cheaper and that's pretty much as far as the consumers look. Some of the comments have covered pertinent points, and I absolutely agree that the commercial farmers should be penalized not the natural organic foodies. But this is the real world. Sadly our neighbours chemical methods affect our lands, and invariably the animals. Also; although there is a market for organic it is so far from us that the travel alone disqualifies us for large scale organic farming.
