My First Compost Tea

in #gardening6 years ago (edited)

Hello all! I am starting to write again, but don't expect a bunch of effort and fanciness still for a while. I just wanna share my compost tea and my cute face haha. Thinks are good at Cedarville, crazy, intense and somewhat chaotic, but lovely. Luckily, I am resilient!

Its my first time making compost tea, since its the first year that my compost is composty! Its so dark, beautiful and smells earthy. There are still a few bigger bits and what not but oh well not everything can be perfect, my plants will still love it I know it.

If I was a plant, I would eat the shit out of this yummy meal. OH YEAH and we have a baby chicken that has become our pet since its momma abandoned her only child when it was really tiny, so we are its momma now and its really cute and hangs out with us all the time... even in the house.... yup we are house training a chicken against better judgement. BUT that will have to wait for another day, don't worry, there is so much content I wont be running out anytime soon!

Thanks for tuning in again Steemians! I cant wait to get the ball rolling with my blog once again <3

Yummmmy compost tea :) I also look forward to seeing more of your new feathered family member joining you in your daily life!

Our chicken is so cute! I am excited to share. It hangs out with us a lot lol.

That's some quality looking compost right there, and the nice thing about the chicken is that you have a ready supply of stuff to add to keep the nitrogen/carbon balance good. (If you do that, just be sure to age it well and, preferably, in self-heating pile).

I am stoked on this compost, its taken me a couple years. I got lots of chickens! And lots of poop in my new composter we built out of pallets with two bins and everything haha, we so fancy. >.< thanks for commenting!

awesome! congrats on your first tea! ;)

First time I heard about compost tea. Thank you for teaching me something new!

I am wanting to make compost tea treats for our garden. I see a bucket, water & compost. How do you do it? LOL great to see you blog again Cae ✌🍓❤

Really easy. I think you can do it fancy with special buckets or you can do it my way which is the easiest most simple way. Take well rotted compost, a couple scoops, put em in a bucket. Enjoy the smell and appriciate your soil lol. Put water in bucket, cover and wait a few days. Strain using a sack or cheesecloth or something. Dilute the tea a bit if its really strong, and then water plants with it. I will be putting the bigger bits I strained out around some plants too. I am sure the internet has more fancy methods haha and more details, I have found afew different ways in my books and internet pages. Super easy! I think my plants are stoked for this delish meal.

Haha I am glad I am blogging again too, its fun. Better then facebook where I am wasting my time lol.

Been finding myself in fb too much lately too tbh. That sounds GREAT my our plants need compost tea! Thank-you so much for connecting about it 🍓🍅🌻 #alwayslovingthesoil #water #air #sunshine #grow

I think the plants will love it, they feed me so good I am excited to make em happy :) Thanks for stopping by meow
