Miracle Grow AeroGarden Extra LED 7
I'm going to start my first garden in the spring so I wanted to get my feet wet a little by growing a little in the winter. I bought this 7 pod AeroGarden Extra and it seems to be working pretty nice. I planted my own seeds and didn't use the ones they provided. I'm sure I will use them at some point in the future. In there now i have tomato, cheyane pepper, basil, parsley, cilantro and chives.
As you can see the tomato plant on the far left has taken over the grower. I will be planting that one in its own pot and just place it next to the Aerogarden. Hopefully it will still grow but its effecting the growth of all the other plants. They are not receiving enough light. Seeds I purchased from my Patriot Supply when I bought their long storeable food. I hope to get the tomato transfered this week.
The other plants are growing but with the extra light and water they will do a lot better. My chives are looking pretty pathetic and I might just plant something else in its place. The basil, parsley and cilantro looks good and we have already used some of those in our dinners. I love fresh herbs!!
You can see the chives on the bottom far left how bad its looking. Pretty sure its directly related to the tomato plant using all the water and blocking light. Ive had to fill the Aerogarden with water more frequently because of the tomato plant growing so quickly. I will post an update when I transfer the tomato plant and get new things in the pod. Thank you for checking out my garden blog. Any suggestions for this o0r my garden in spring will be very helpful.
Me too! Most of mine are growing outside. I hope the winter won't freeze them. I might start something inside too - that looks fun!
