Hello everyone and have a great Friday! The week is drawing to a close again and I haven't managed to get as much done as I had planned or even should have done. Unfortunately, we have a few people in our circle of friends who are suffering from a broken heart. I try to be there for everyone as best I can. That's why I'm going to enter the competition with the neighbours' pumpkins. There just wasn't time to grow any myself.
The neighbours have already taught me as a full-fledged farm girl in almost all necessary matters. As I am close to nature and animals, I am allowed to look after two types of pumpkin on their side of the fence. I will be competing here with "Muscat de Provence" and the "Atlantic Giant". Whether this pumpkin was left over from the time before the Flood, before the Flood had to be sent to wipe out the physical nature of the giants... nobody knows. But it is certainly a giant pumpkin, and it will be interesting to see how big it gets this year.
Hallo zusammen und euch allen einen schönen Freitag! Die Woche neigt sich schon wieder dem Ende zu, und ich habe bei weitem nicht so viel geschafft, wie ich vorhatte oder sogar hätte machen müssen. Bedauerlicherweise haben wir in unserem Freundeskreis einige Menschen, die an einem gebrochenen Herzen leiden. Ich versuche, für jeden so gut ich kann da zu sein. Deshalb werde ich auch mit den Kürbissen der Nachbarn an diesem Wettbewerb teilnehmen. Es war einfach keine Zeit, selbst welche zu kultivieren.
Die Nachbarn haben mich schon als vollwertiges Bauernmädchen in so gut wie allen notwendigen Belangen unterrichtet. Da ich der Natur und den Tieren verbunden bin, darf ich mich auf ihrer Seite des Zauns um zwei Kürbisarten kümmern. Antreten werde ich hier mit “Muscat de Provence” und dem „Atlantic Gigant“. Ob dieser Kürbis aus der Zeit vor der Sintflut übergeblieben ist, bevor die Sintflut geschickt werden musste, um die physische Natur der Riesen auszulöschen… weiß keiner. Aber er ist auf jeden Fall ein riesiger Kürbis, und man darf gespannt sein, wie groß er dieses Jahr wird.
When it comes to pumpkins, I'm a real bungler. The fondest memories I have of a pumpkin are the ones in the film "Cinderella" where the pumpkin was transformed into a very magnificent carriage. LOOL.
I've never bought it myself or prepared it on my own. If I have, then friends and I have made it together because, as I said, I don't know anything about pumpkin and I'm not really into the flavour. Pickled pumpkin is my favourite. The neighbours throw me in at the deep end - pumpkin care is my thing and I should just do what my gut tells me. Well, that sounds like pumpkin action! So let's get to work on the pumpkin. What my neighbours have already lovingly grown is now in my care. I'm going to make even more of an effort under these given standards.
Was Kürbisse betrifft, bin ich ein echter Stümper. Die schönsten Erinnerungen, die ich an einen Kürbis habe, sind jene, in denen im Film “Cinderella” der Kürbis in einen sehr prachtvollen Kutschenwagen verwandelt wurde. LOOL.
Ich habe ihn nie selbst gekauft oder alleine zubereitet. Wenn, dann haben Freunde und ich das zusammen gemacht, weil ich vom Kürbis, wie gesagt, keine Ahnung habe und nicht voll auf den Geschmack abfahre. Dabei gefällt mir eingelegter Kürbis am besten. Die Nachbarn schmeißen mich ins kalte Wasser – die Kürbispflege ist mein Ding, und ich soll einfach mal machen, wie mir mein Gefühl sagt. Na, das klingt doch nach Kürbisaktion! Also dann mal ran an den Kürbis. Das, was meine Nachbarn schon in liebevoller Arbeit vorgezogen haben, wird nun in meine Obhut gegeben. Ich werde mir unter diesen vorgegebenen Maßstab noch mehr Mühe geben.
