Geek TV Shows Still To Anticipate This Year

in #geektv8 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemians, Comic book fans and geek TV followers!

We're in the middle of Spring and a lot of the TV Shows we were anticipating last year have been dropped already, so it's time to begin looking forward to the summer and fall shows that will be dropped later this year. What's to be expected regarding comic book and geek TV? Some new shows will be premiering, and new seasons of old ones will be dropping. Let's check them out!

1. Teen Titans

First of the list is DCs Teen Titans. Yayyy, Teen Titans! The comic books and animated series have been very enjoyable, and from what I'm seeing, the TV Series is going to be awesome, especially with Greg Berlanti, the creator of the arrowverse involved. There are no much details yet, apart from the casting and first five episodes list, and it will be premiering in the fall.

2. The 100, Season 5

We have the 100 season 5 dropping in April --that's really close and really great. A new teaser trailer was dropped last week (check it out below!), and it's been just what we've been waiting for. Begins airing on the CW on April 26th.

3. Luke Cage, Season 2 and Daredevil Season 3

Going over into Marvel. Jessica Jones was dropped on Netflix a few weeks ago, and later this year we will be having new seasons of Luke Cage and Daredevil. If you saw The Defenders, then you must, as I am, be waiting to know what's next with Luke Cage and Darewdevil, especially the latter who we saw die at the end of that show, only to be revealed to be alive in a nunnery somewhere, unknown to everyone. So what's going to happen to him and his relationships? What's going to happen with Luke in Harlem?? I really can't wait! Luke Cage is also going to feature Danny Rand, the Iron Fist, and there's a lot to look forward there too.

4. Krypton

This actually just dropped yesterday, so it really shouldn't be on this list, but I think it deserves a mention. I'm still a little skeptical on the premise, but I almost always am with new shows. The show is a prequel to Superman's story, but unlike Smallville (and Gotham for Batman), it isn't about the famous character, but about what happen before the tradegy. It'll be airing on the SyFy network. Let's see how it goes!

5. Cloak and Dagger

Another Marvel series, but on the Freeform network this time --the first of its kind! The newest trailer looks as much as you'd expect of a teen drama on that Network... pretty sure it'll be unlike the traditional superhero thriller. I'm really looking forward to this. Runaways was a big hit... hope this does as well.

Any other shows I missed? let's know in the comments!
