Manchita is the name given to the oldest cat in the herd.

She is approximately 16 years old, I don't know her exact age and she arrived here 11 years ago, she really didn't arrive, she was brought by Catire Misuma a cat that already died, who was the only companion animal at that moment at home.

She came with him to the door and when my sister started to feed her at the door I warned her that we would have her inside the apartment any moment and that's how it was, she is still here today.

She is a cat of three colors, like most of the females, she is of the pint that they call calico, she is of medium size, very pretty, with a strong character, when she began to enter the apartment she adopted my mother, yes as you read it, she adopted my mother, but she was too arisca she did not like at all that they caressed her, and less that they carried her, this changed with effort and time.

In addition to being super territorial, Manchita has a very particular character, we could say that she is bitter, she does not tolerate to have very near the other members of the herd, and arrived to the point of urinating the plates of her brothers. She was never sterilized, this makes me presume that she had a home and I don't know if because of that beauty of character she was run away or if she decided to leave.

Among other aptitudes that discover Mancha we always comment that she had what we call a lying down when walking, but last year I began to notice that she was shaking more, that she avoided jumping directly to the floor looking for support to avoid direct falls and that in addition it was difficult for her to push herself with her hind legs or posters.

For noticing this change in her behavior I took her to the vet, where after taking some x-rays she was diagnosed as having degenerative osteoarthritis (I will dedicate another publication to give a little more information about this disease), they recommended that she could not gain weight but she has a very good appetite and that has been difficult, In addition, the cold makes your joints hurt more, in the cold nights we put a sweater to help you warm up, in addition to giving your treatment is basically glucosamine, a homeopathic drops called Discus compositun, this treatment is for life.

This is the first presentation of the kittens that make life in my home and that have inspired me to help in one way or another to the cats that do not have a home.

There are many animals in street condition, they did not choose to be there, they are simply there, either because they were born on the street or abandoned to their fate and look for food among the garbage because they have no choice, the most desperate for food are mothers with puppies, and not to mention thirsty because they do not have a container at their disposal with clean and fresh water, as they can have my cats or dogs in a home where they are truly loved and considered part of the family.
