Greetings, today I share my point of view about the contribution of video games in the development of skills and abilities in children from an early age.
I am the father of a six year old boy who has been allowed to play video games since he was 4 years old and has started playing games on the Tablet that teach him letters, syllables, geometric figures and animal sounds, and others like Angry Birds and Plants vs Zombies.
I have noticed how video games are a great component in the learning process and psychological development in children, because it is something they do for their entertainment and not a task that is imposed on them they develop cognitive skills with greater interest.
So far, he plays some more advanced games such as MINECRAFT, ROBLOX, SPORE, ULTIMATE SPIDERMAN, SONIC.
Most video games encourage learning and introduction to reading and also increase their reading ability to those who already know how to read this is because the games as a whole bring indications and written warnings about what they have to do to advance in the game and this makes them more motivated in the fast reading.
In Spanish-speaking countries and possibly in other countries we have most of the games in English and few are translated. This was a boost in my son's motivation to know and learn the English language and to know that they say many words that appear in the games, thanks to this he already has a mastery of the meaning of many words and sentences in English.
They improve the ability to respond to the moment because to overcome some obstacles in the games require quick actions due to the short time they allow him to perform the task. They also develop the ability to reason in a timely manner.
They foster motivation, leadership and decision making in children as they progress through the consequent challenges of play. Consequently, children develop strategies to overcome obstacles and move to the next level of play by increasing their instinct to overcome.
They increase the ability to concentrate and solve challenges while memorizing the strategy used to overcome them again. As well as remembering the information of the characters and objects and interacting with each other within the game.
The child who plays video games enhances his constructive imagination by performing a high level of creativity in many aspects.
They improve coordination because the child has to keep his or her eyes focused on the game screen so as not to miss anything in the game environment and at the same time his or her hands synchronized with the control or keyboard of the computer dominating every movement of the character.
Currently ROBLOX is my son's favorite game, it is an online multiplatform game where he can explore an infinite number of games where the character participates along with other players connected online. The games range from surviving natural disasters, working in a pizzeria, playing parkour, etc.
The child has the freedom to customize his avatar from the physical body to clothing and accessories.
They can interact socially by adding their peers to their list of friends and also have a chat room where they can communicate and invite others to play a specific game.
Being an online game and free access to any kind of people requires total attention and dedication on my part to be aware of which game I can allow the child to play and is suitable for their age, I have to be always watching if someone tries to contact him, I review the requests for games and friendship preferably only children I know or their cousins to avoid so contact with people with bad intentions. As a rule every time he goes to play ROBLOX I have to be by his side.
APORTE DE LOS VIDEOS JUEGOS EN EL DESARROLLO DE CONOCIMIENTOS, HABILIDADES Y ACTITUDES EN LOS NIÑOS.
Saludos, hoy comparto mi punto de vista sobre el aporte que brindan los videojuegos en el desarrollo de habilidades y destrezas en los niños desde temprana edad.
Soy padre de un niño de seis años al cual le he permitido jugar videojuegos desde los 4 años empezando a jugar en la Tablet juegos de aprendizaje de letras, silabas, rompecabezas figuras geométricas y sonidos de animales, otros como Angry Birds y Plants vs Zombies.
He notado como los videojuegos son un componente de gran aporte en el proceso de aprendizaje y desarrollo psicológico en los niños, debido a que es algo que realizan por su entretenimiento y no una tarea que se le impone desarrollan habilidades cognitivas con mayor interés.
Hasta la presente fecha juega algunos juegos más avanzados como MINECRAFT, ROBLOX, SPORE, ULTIMATE SPIDERMAN, SONIC.
La mayoría de los videojuegos fomentan el aprendizaje e introducción a la lectura y a la vez incrementan su habilidad lectora a los que ya saben leer esto se debe a que los juegos en su totalidad traen indicaciones y avisos escritos sobre lo que tienen que realizar para avanzar en el juego y esto hace que se motiven más en la lectura rápida.
En los países de habla hispana y posiblemente en otros países tenemos la mayoría de los juegos en inglés y pocos son traducidos. Esto fue un impulso en la motivación de mi hijo para conocer y aprender el idioma ingles y saber que dicen muchas palabras que aparecen en los juegos, gracias a esto ya tiene un dominio del significado de muchas palabras y oraciones en inglés.
Mejoran la capacidad de respuesta al momento ya que para superar algunos obstáculos en los juegos se requieren acciones rápidas debido al corto tiempo que le permiten para realizar dicha tarea. Así como desarrollan la habilidad de razonamiento oportuno.
Fomentan la motivación, el liderazgo y la toma decisiones en los niños a medida que van avanzando superando los consecuentes imprevistos planteados por los juegos consecuentemente los niños van desarrollando estrategias para poder superar los obstáculos avanzando al siguiente nivel del juego incrementando el instinto de superación de los niños.
Incrementan la capacidad para concentrarse y resolver retos a la vez que memorizan la estrategia empleada para superarlos nuevamente. Así como recordar la información de los personajes y objetos e interacción de unos con otros dentro del juego.
El niño que juega videojuegos potencia su imaginación constructiva desempeñando un alto nivel de creatividad en muchos aspectos.
Mejoran la coordinación debido a que el niño tiene que mantener la vista enfocada en la pantalla del juego para no perderse de nada en el entorno del juego y al mismo tiempo sus manos sincronizadas con el control o teclado del ordenador dominando cada movimiento del personaje.
Actualmente ROBLOX es el juego favorito de mi hijo, es un juego multiplataforma en linea donde puede explorar infinidad de juegos donde el personaje participa junto a otros jugadores conectados en linea. los juegos van desde sobrevivir a desastres naturales, trabajar en una pizzeria, jugar parkour, etc...
El niño tiene la libertad de personalizar su avatar desde la complexión física del cuerpo hasta las prendas de vestir y accesorios.
Pueden interactuar socialmente agregando a sus compañeros a la lista de amigos, ademas cuenta con un chat donde se comunican e invitan a jugar un juego en especifico.
Al ser un juego online y de acceso libre a cualquier tipo de personas requiere total atención y dedicación de mi parte para estar pendiente de cual juego puedo permitir que el niño juegue y sea apto para su edad, tengo estar siempre observando si alguien trata de contactarlo, reviso las solicitudes de juegos y de amistad preferiblemente solo niños que conozco o sus primos para evitar asi que contacte con personas mal intencionadas. Como regla cada vez que va a jugar ROBLOX tengo que estar a su lado.
