The internet, as I said before, is also full of these ads that invite you to exercise, eat healthy and other recreational activities in order to deprive yourself of the computer, the telephone or social networks for a few hours a day, so that you do not it becomes an addiction, or, much worse, a temptation for someone with mental problems who wants to go viral ...
Ver criticas hacía la constante dependencia de las redes sociales es algo ya rutinario en todos lados. En carteles, propagandas, series, show, en el internet e incluso en películas; todo esto se asemeja a las cajas de cigarros que te advierten sobre las consecuencias de fumar, pero sin prohibir el consumo de los mismos. El internet, como dije antes, también está plagado de estos anuncios que de invitan a hacer ejercicio, comer sano y otras actividades recreativas para así despojarte de la computadora, del teléfono o de las redes sociales durante unas horas al día, para que así no se vuelva una adicción, o, mucho peor, una tentación para alguna persona con problemas mentales que se quiera volver viral...
Something like this is what we are shown in Spree, a new film in the form of a mockumentary based on a streamer who wants to become famous for anything. For this, Kurt, our protagonist, begins to broadcast his work as a taxi driver live, while he kidnaps and kills his passengers. Something that from the beginning sounds Machiavellian, little by little it goes into more unrealistic terrain that cuts the barrier of horror, making the film less and less terrifying, but more fun.
Algo así es lo que se nos muestra en Spree, una nueva película con la forma de documental falso basado en un streamer que quiere volverse famoso a cualquier cosa. Para esto, Kurt, nuestro protagonista, comienza a transmitir en vivo su trabajo como taxista, mientras que secuestra y mata a sus pasajeros. Algo que desde un principio se escucha maquiavélico, poco a poco se va adentrando a terrenos más irrealistas que cortan la barrera del horror, volviendo la película cada vez menos terrorífica, pero más divertida.
Spree, being both a horror film and a black comedy, and in the end a satire (and also a criticism) of influencers and the internet, is one of the best things that I have found in 2020 when talking about cinema. An audacious movie that works to entertain you, excite you, and get you a laugh in a short period of time of just an hour and a half.
Spree, siendo tanto una película de horror como una comedia negra, y al final una sátira (y también una crítica) hacía los influencers y el internet, es una de las mejores cosas que me he encontrado este 2020 cuando de cine se habla. Una película audaz que funciona para entretenerte, emocionarte y sacarte una que otra risa en un corto periodo de tiempo de apenas una hora y media.
