Here in Brazil, to convert steem or sbd into fiat currency, we have to have a wallet that accepts bitcoin, litecoin, bitcoincash, ethereum or dash. Then we converted to the blockchaim and traded for real money.
The steem being added in other places, will make soon that this negotiation is not necessary, in addition, mainly to make the value of steem and sbd go up

Yes it is the same here in the States. As we see more exchanges embrace it, there will come a time when STEEM to fiat will be accepted. Until then, we still will require going through another token first.
I will be very happy when that happens. I want steem coin to go to $100
