Geocaching

What is Geocaching?

Geocaching is a popular outdoor activity/game that involves using GPS-enabled devices (mobile app) to search for hidden objects known as "geocaches" Geocaches can be hidden anywhere in the world and players from all over the world can hunt for these Geocaches. What makes it so remarkable is that anyone can go and hide something big or small and other people can look for it.

Geocaching can have A wide range of difficulties some being harder to find, some requiring tools to get into, and some even being part of A series of multiple stages in which you must solve things and certain locations before going to another location.

Geocaching has been around for some time dating back over A decade, Somehow I never stumbled upon this despite being an outdoors person and into exploring. I only found out about this app when A pokemon go player recommended it to me after expressing my interest in playing other outdoor-based mobile games.

I have been playing for just under A week and have found myself 10+ Geocaches in total both local and far during my coast travels. They have all been different in size, difficulty, and uniqueness. I recommend you be aware of your surroundings and what you are picking up I carried some hand sanitizer with me just to be able to clean up after searching for each geocache.

Here are some photos of some geocaches that I have found on my travels.

This one was one of the first 5 I found and so far it's my favorite, Not only was it the biggest sized one so far but inside contained a big roll of paper for me to sign my username and date I found the geocache and a note telling me A little bit of history about the boat where it was hidden in so it was A very nice find.

The others I have found have been much smaller in size but always contain A roll of paper to sign and date which is very cool.

From what I have seen so far the community is huge and even in my area it seems to be somewhat popular with A few people signing A geocache I found near where I am based.
