Sandy Crevice

Pictures of sand trapped in the crevices of rocks. The individual grains of sand look like crystals, and they certainly are. Sand is composed of silica for the most part, same as quartz crystal.

If you look closely, you can see there are some pink sand crystals and other colors too, though they are mostly clear.

These are rocks I found today while poking around on the Oregon coast -- agate, jasper and quartz.
