Some of you may have found out that I'm running my own social media campaign called Stellabelle Coin. Well, I'm renaming this campaign to #GetYourAssOnSteemit Coin.
This guide will help you be successful in creating your very own #GetYourAssOnSteemit social media campaign that your friends will find hard to resist. This campaign works best for people who have some Steem Power.
HERE IS WHAT YOU DO:
STEP 1: Create clay coins from Air Dry Clay.
You can buy this clay from most craft stores and even toy stores. It's fairly cheap.
Let your clay coins dry for one day.
After they are dry, paint the Steemit logo on them with Acrylic paints.
Here's mine after I painted them. Notice: they are not perfect. It's ok:
STEP 2: Print out #GetYourAssOnSteemit instructions
Of course you need to fill in the blanks. The first blank refers to how much your upvote is worth. Currently mine is worth $60. So, the motivation to join Steemit as a newbie and be guaranteed a certain $60 upvote is a pretty strong pull.
The next blank is for your email address. This will help you track the progression of your coin's travels.
STEP 3: Track your progress on a big sheet of paper.
In order to track your progress of this campaign, it helps to write down each person you voted for. This also prevents fraud and gaming the system because each person who emails you will have to tell you who gave them the #getyourassonsteemit coin. So you can see a visualization of the chain, as the coin will move through friend networks.
After you have completed these steps, it's time to give away your coins and instructions to your friends. Why not have a party so you can give away your coins at that time when everyone is together? That's what I did at the Steem party in KC recently.
EXTRA FUN STEP:
At the time of upvoting your friend, you can slap on a #GetYourAssOnSteemit meme image to make your campaign even more viral. This will make your friend feel even more special, and when people see it, they will want to either start their own campaign or get your coin. Plus, it will be cool to see how this beast will travel around social media....

I need to credit Winston Wolfe as the originator of this #GetYourAssOnSteemit meme. He was slapping this puppy all over facebook, and I think it's probably a viral meme just waiting to happen. Also, @jasonrussell mentioned that my coin was the get your ass in steemit coin, which gave me the idea to rename my campaign.
You are putting in so much effort in this campaign. I really like your idea of creating clay coins. The posters are awesome too.
Unfortunately, as a minnow just 9 says old, I do not have too much steem power. However, I will keep track of the campaign and join in when I earn sufficient steem dollars. Thanks for inspiring me.

However, it is also inherent in Steemit platform that new, interesting and original topics that anyone is passionate about, can be freely shared. Remember, comments posted here (on Steemit) can be just as valuable in terms of content as the post because they provide the basis for discussion and communication on a given topic. That is what drives the community system here, that's what makes it more valuable than selfies and likes on other "websites".

I understand and appreciate your point. The lively discussion and diverse viewpoints really work to enrich my experience on Steemit. I have had basic exposure to other social media like Facebook and Whatsapp but they could never hold my interest. Steemit, on the other hand has taught me something every day and is able to fully engage my interest. The discussion that followed my post 'Solitude.. NOT Lonelines - A BOON - not a BANE' really demonstrated how powerful a medium Steemit is. Something that started as a chain of thought from one photo taken by me evolved into a full blown discussion with many people from different walks of life contributing their views and sharing their experience.

That's one way of getting people to to this platform, however I highly doubt my $0.03 upvote will be incentive to someone to join us here. You can also make a coin that has some special mark on the back, and it will always give upvote from original creator. That way, 1 coin made by you could get dosens of new users to platform.

I like how this campaign takes things offline. Explaining something--if you aren't here or aren't into crypto--electronically would be less persuasive and possibly confusing. I find when I sit down to talk to a friend and tell them what I've been up to (Steeming the days away), they ask questions and are interested versus when I've just shared my steem posts to show them.

Great idea. I have a "hookup" for metal and plastic tokens like these that would cost less than a dollar each, much cheaper when you get over 100, and could lay out the money to make them for you if you want. You could serial number them and even QR code them to track their history. Love the idea let me know if you wanted to create a more durable limited run of metal or plastic coins. I love the growth idea! As my Steem Power grows, I'll definitely have to come up with something similar. Right now I've been spreading word about Steemit to my nerdy friends (with very little success).
I've found myself starting to spread the word to some of my less nerdy friends too. While none of them have "taken the leap" just yet, I have received a little more traction from them, so I'll slowly keep at it :)
The challenge / fun about Steemit is that once you have a following, you're not done there. You have to continue providing useful and interesting content to continue to grow! I really enjoy that part about the platform and am looking forward to becoming a Steemit Pioneer!
