Project 2: GHANA STEEMIT CREATORS’ PROMJET (GSCP) (Beta Mode)

in #ghana6 years ago (edited)

In efforts to further the goal of a continuous growth in unity, the Ghana Steemit community is coming out with a new project to promote quality work on the Steemit platform among membership by giving quality articles the needed recognition.

It has only been a fortnight since the implementation of the STEEMFAST-JET (SFJ) which was meant to expedite the growth rates of membership through posts boosting. To the community is launching the STEEMIT CREATORS’ PROMJET

Promoting Quality Content.png

These efforts are meant to promote the Steemit blockchain to the youth of the Ghanaian community by means of portraying role models in a form of people who have been successful through the platform. The moderators of the Ghana community believe that the best way to attain a sustainable growth on the platform is via creation of quality and relevant content. This project was therefore born in efforts to promote quality among membership. It was suggested by @ehmkannde in consultation with @tj4real and was quickly unanimously welcomed by the entire community and this document is meant to serve as the white paper for the project.

What is GSCP?

GSCP stands for Ghana Steemit Creators’ Promojet; it is crafted to support the growth of the Ghana Steemit community by promoting quality content among membership.

How will GSCP achieve this?

Each day the top 5 articles by members of the Ghana Steemit community shall be selected and published daily curie post by the mother account; @steemitghana

How will the 5 articles be selected?

Nomination of articles shall be done by the authors themselves or by anyone who thinks the post meets the required standards for shortlisting. The links to these posts shall be dropped in GSCP Nom channel in the Ghana discord server.
This nominated articles shall then be shortlisted by an 8-man team (GSCP committee). Each member is entitled to shortlist a maximum of one article into the GSCP shortlisted channel on the same server and this is editable only by the GSCP committee but the rest of the community can see whatever is going on within the channel.

Why are authors allowed to nominate their own articles?

The Ghanaian community is relatively very small at the moment and this is a hugely demanding task hence instead of the members of the committee reading each article from the over 200 members of the community it would be easier if each author is allowed to cross check their article against the GSCP standards and nominate.

What happens if I create a good posts and fail to nominate it?

It is possible that someone may see the quality in the post and nominate it for you and it would be considered. However If no one nominates the article we are sorry your article would not be considered by the GSCP committee.

If my article is shortlisted does that mean it will be part of the daily top 5?

NO!
Each day 8 articles shortlisted would make it to a final vetting process but only 5 would be selected to be published in the GSCP daily posts by @steemitghana.

How is the top 5 selected from the 8 shortlisted posts?

The GSCP committee will be responsible for the vetting process hence as soon as the 8 articles are shortlisted the vetting process begins.
Each member of the committee is entitled to read all 8 articles and score them from one to 8. No two articles shall be scored with the same number by any member.

Illustration:
Let’s say the shortlisted articles are coded A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H
A committee member is supposed to read them all and rate them like
Article code Rating

ArticleRating
A6
B1
C3
D4
E8
F5
G7
H2

So at the end of the vetting process we would have a table like below
screeen.PNG

From the table articles G, E, F, A are chosen in that order and in this case there is a tie between Articles A and C. To break the tie the moderator of the GSCP joins the 8 man team to make an odd number and the 9 people cast votes to selected one of them to make the top 5.

This system of vetting is carefully thought through and you don’t have to worry about the technicalities that went into this. The committee shall be trained to understand this system and how to rate. The moderator shall be responsible for compiling the results after all ratings are in and only votes when there is a tie.

How will the 8-man committee and the moderator selected?

The selection the team to man this project shall be done via an open nomination. Members shall nominate others who they think are active and more transparent. You can nominate yourself if you think you are up to the task. The nominated members shall have the chance to accept or reject the nomination without any repercussions. The Inner Chamber shall be responsible for nominating the moderator who would report the progress of the project to them.
Please Note: Each member must understand that this is a hectic job and be ready to commit several hours of their time each day from Tuesday to Friday (4 days) before accepting nomination because no excuse shall be accepted when.

Are the members of the committee exempted from the project?

For now no!
Members of the committee can take part however the system would make sure members cannot influence the vetting process. Members of the committee can nominate their own post into the GSCP nom channel like any other member of the community. They are however forbidden from shortlisting their own articles.
This shall continue until a compensation plan is drafted for the members of the committee and they will then be exempted completely from partaking in the project.

What do I gain when my post makes it to the top curie post?

Your post will be exposed for massive upvotes from members of the Ghanaian community as well as Ghanaians in diaspora on Steemit. There are also partners who are committed to help the Ghanaian community who shall be upvoting the selected posts.

Aside that you are exposed to more readers who are likely to follow you if they are impressed with your article. There are several other privileges currently being developed for the project.

Is the project going to take place every day?

No
The project will be 4 times a week which is Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Posts of Saturday, Sunday and Monday shall be shortlisted for the Tuesday session of the project.

What happens if I submit post link to the GSCP nom channel which clearly does not conform to the guidelines?

Repeated posting of inappropriate links would land you into the black listed users and your future articles are likely not to be considered. This is necessary to reduce the work load for the GSCP committee.
