Ghosts and Demons and ? oh my!

I ran into a friend

that I hadn't seen in a month or two. Their first question was, "Anything new going on at the haunted house?"
"Not much," I responded.
Then I paused and thought about it. "Well, there was the woman who was scratched three times and the last time was through her knee high boot. Did I already tell you about that?"
"NO!"

She got scratched twice,

so she was getting ready to leave and she felt a stinging on her leg. She had to take her boot off to see the scratch that was at least 4 or 5 inches long. She's not coming back. She thinks it was a demon. Some people believe that the only supernatural explanation for a scratch from nowhere is that a demon is involved. I don't believe that, but there are people who do.

Which reminded me of something else

that had happened recently. A group had heard someone screaming upstairs. They assumed it was one of their group and ran upstairs to find out what was happening. It turned out that the whole group had been downstairs. So, who was screaming? We'll never know for sure, but it wasn't anyone in their group. They've already scheduled to come back again.

Then there was the whole story of the caretakers.

Back in August, we arranged for a pregnant couple to move into the back room of Hill House Manor and keep the place dusted and clean and to host the ghost hunts. They knew when they moved in that the house is haunted. They had seen things themselves in the house that confirmed to them it is active.

By Christmas they let us know

that they couldn't take it anymore. They needed to find another place to live. We asked what was wrong. They could only tell us that there was so much going on they were starting to feel like they were crazy. They would wake up and see someone standing at the foot of the bed. They would lay things down and when they went back for them, they were gone. They would hear other people in the house. Sometimes those people were in the same room. Sometimes they were upstairs. They would hear people at the front door and no one would be there.

Now, if you know the story of Hill House Manor,

you know that we have never had a tenant last more than 6 months in the house. It appears the caretakers couldn't even make it that long.

We had never tried caretakers before

and we won't be trying it again anytime soon. The stories aren't of anything horrific. It's not like being chased by a monster. It's like being pecked constantly by a hundred birds. It's that constant hearing voices or seeing people especially out of the corner of the eye. It builds up and after a few months, you just can't believe that you're not losing your mind.

My friend was surprised at how much had happened and I didn't think to tell him right away. But to me it is the way life is. I hear stories from groups almost every weekend. I guess I am becoming immune.

Oh, did I mention it took over a month to get the caretakers to go back inside to get their belongings? Yeah, they were always too busy, or some other excuse.

Want to spend the night in a haunted house?

I think you are so fascinating! I'm glad @kiwideb linked you in a comment. So you own a haunted house? That sounds like it really makes life interesting. My husband is horribly afraid of ghosts. I doubt I could drag him into a haunted house. The idea of staying six months to him would be out of the question. I use to live in a house where we think it was haunted. I'd hear the floor in the living room above me creaking as if someone were walking around at night. We never used the living room except on holidays and I was terrified to go in by myself. I felt like someone was in there with me and it would get really cold even in summer. My brother saw orbs and figure shaped shadows in his room in the middle of the night on numerous occasions. Got to the point he moved out of that room he was so bothered. We think it was our great uncle who died unexpectedly years before we moved in.

Sounds like a haunting to me. We have numerous spirits at Hill House Manor. Sometimes in Summer, a room will get so cold you'd think we had it air-conditioned. Most of the ghost hunters appreciate that when it happens. lol

I have experienced this type of thing a lot in my life, including the scratches and other forms of physical harm. It's a very terrifying thing to go through!

greta writing and photos that bring us into the mood

You own this place? Sound like a real adventure for sure, not one that would go to the top of my bucket list though. I need to go check out your link to the website and get the whole story.

My husband and I own it, but he leaves the host and promotion duties to me. He'll give a tour if he has to, but it's never his first choice. ha ha. It can be pretty laid back for an evening and there's a huge casino 20 minutes away if you need to liven things up, so to speak. I enjoy being over there with a group. I don't fair too well by myself.

I tried the link last night before I went to bed but it timed out and wouldn't connect. I'll try and look it up online and connect to the website. Sounds very interesting to say the least.

I fixed it the day after you mentioned it. Thanks.

I am really hoping to be able to interview you for a podcast if at all possible message me in paranormal steem to let me know.

I left you a message. though not a dm. Be my pleasure to do a podcast with you.
