It has been proven that the mind can only think one thought at a time. The subconscious mind also cannot distinguish between right and wrong and responds to what it is continuously hearing because it is accepted as fact. And then we often wonder why we are suffering from negativity, anger, depression, stress, etc., etc...
As you have quoted Proverbs 18:21, yet we keep on speaking words of death and destruction into our own lives.
I cannot recall the exact scripture offhand, but it is also in Proverbs where the Bible tells us that even the fool can be considered to be wise if only he would keep quiet.
So if you cannot say anything positive at the time, rather keep quiet.

Even the plants differentiate positive words from negatives!
