The same as Steve, I never played proper golf, but we did have a "practice field" in our town... When my son was around 12 years old, he joined the local club and practiced for over a year... To connect more with him, he "invited" me for a duel a couple of times, and it was a lot of fun... I remember there were round, net baskets that we would try to hit from 75 - 100 m, and he was thrilled to explain how to take a shot, the position of the body, swing, etc... 😃
Every outdoor activity is fun when friends are involved! A few more occasions and your friends will get better and give you a hard time to beat them... :)

That is an awesome story, very wholesome. I love the outdoors, and yeah, finding friends with similar interests is great and adds to the competitiveness.
