Would you argue that we need to be "pragmatic in considering the pros and cons of slavery" instead of condemning coercive appropriation of lives and labor in total disregard for consent? We're told democracy allows us to have a voice, participate, and provide consent to be governed, but it should be plain to see that consent of the minority is routinely violated using the bandwagon fallacy as justification.
