As I did a few episodes ago with Danny’s episode, I will simply write some of my thoughts and takeaways after recording episode 10. I talked with Wade Lopp, a friend of mine who occasionally leads a local Bible study. Wade is a non-denominational Christian, and he does a lot of reading about theology and Christian apologetics. Primarily, we talked about the latter. He walked me through a few strategies we can use to defend our faith to others.
Anyone can listen to this episode despite its religious topics because Wade’s key message is about respectful discourse and ultimately loving one another. A Christian can listen to the episode and build their logical knowledge, and a non-Christian can listen and either learn something new or understand Christian arguments so as to better prepare to argue against them. I walked away being reminded that we are called to love everyone, and ultimately, love is truth. The moment we seek to simply "destroy" people with facts and logic, we are no longer loving them. But I still must desire to show them the truth because the truth changed my life. Their soul is on the line. We gotta act like it.
