So i bet you can only imagine what happens ....
A wood stove , a boy, and a skunk
One day grandpa didnt want to go to school. So he came up with an idea for getting out of school for the day.
He was an ornery kid, and so was a few others ( read the next post coming next week) . And so he decided to catch a skunk !
He took the scent gland from the skunk ( not sure how he did that) and got to school before anyone else.
He threw the scent gland into the wood stove!!!
When the teacher showed up it smelled so bad that not just one day of school had to be cancelled, but a whole week!!
Grandpa would would laugh when he would tell this story. Us kids thought it was the funniest thing ever!!
Well grandpa was known for orneriness , and causing trouble. And when school resumed. The teacher knew quite well it was grandpa and had taking grandpas orineriness personally, he grabbed grandpa by the shirt collar and drug him out of the school! grandpa would then tell ..... His heels went click , click , click down the schoolhouse steps as he was drug from the classroom outdoors for his punishment!

What I recall grandpa sayin was never let a skunks hind feet bounce off your leg while you carry him by the tail .
We grew up reading books.. some of them was about the kids who did ornery things like tipping a outhouse over with someone in it , or moving the outhouse and not filling in the previous hole.
Some real funny stories!!
