Today, for us Greeks is the Celebration of the Greek Revolution against the Ottoman Empire, which eventually led to the liberation and establishment of modern Greece. This was just the first of countless wars to come. For the next two centuries, mother Greece sacrificed the blood of the many to keep the tree of Liberty alive and growing.
