Volume 9

This is the Greeters Guild ninth installment of the “Newbie Spotlight”. @terminallyill is working hard to recruit and equip new writers so we can publish this newsletter everyday and draw attention to even more of the newbies that join our Discord server.

This publication is just part of what we are doing to help new steemit members. Our server offers encouragement, and workshops to help them succeed on this platform. We also offer those who are interested special training to become greeters and scouts giving them much needed skills to become better at interacting with the community, and discovering what good quality content looks like.

This first newcomer named Marcos Roldan, even got creative with his steemit sign by drawing little pictures that show his interests. Then his post goes on to explain a little about each of them.

He enjoys music and playing instruments which include a guitar, a violin, and another stringed instrument called a cuatro which is quite popular in his country, Venezuela.

Some of his other interests include poetry, science, and video games. One of his favorite hobbies is electronics. It started out when he was trying to fix some lightbulbs. He had trouble at first but was super excited when he finally figured out. He shares a picture in his post of one of his projects.

I really love how he describes why he joined Steemit:

I chose steemit as my blogging platform for a simple reason: Community. For what I've seen, steemit community seems to be really interactive, kind, active and social; Which sums up to be the perfect blogging page. And not only that, you can also get rewarded by it !!!

So let’s ‘reward’ Marcos with some thoughtful comments, resteems, and upvotes.

Our second Newbie, Temiwumi Emmanuel, hopes to share his talents and experiences with Steemit. He describes one of his talents this way,

With so much love for sound, I started singing at a young age, could play the piano and drums. I hope to drop my songs and write-ups to straighten up my talent on the platform” He’s already dropped one song so be sure to check it out and give him some feedback. here

Besides singing Temiwumi has been a chess instructor for 5 years working with children and orphans and impacting them with what he calls “the game of the mind” and encouraging them to strive for a better life.

@temiblaze is also an accountant. His work requires him to keep up with international trends as well as cryptocurrency. He believes his knowledge and experience in these areas with be helpful to the steemit community.

Lastly, I’d like to introduce you to Michelle, AKA mim. She is definitely full of life and curiosity. This is how she describes herself:

I love everything exciting and new and I adore travelling and exploring, even in my own backyard! I have many interests and am always keen to learn about yours.

Born in Germany, but raised in Australia, her favorite things are beaches and her adorable cat, Simba. She is planning a vacation to Croatia and the Greek Islands and can’t wait to see what she will discover and be able to share with us. Her excitement is very contagious and I’m going to follow her so I can read all about it.
