Artists, graphic designers, node.js / JavaScript and blockchain integration magicians wanted!
Currently there is little that can be done with GRC and, in my opinion BOINC projects provide too little feedback and engagement to crunchers. To address above problems, I have developed a concept of the game / dapp. It would use Gridcoin network’s strengths, although it would need to be run on the blockchain supporting contracts of some kind. In fact this could bring some synergy effects and be beneficial to both blockchains.
Meet Trappist-1e
One of the requirements of such a game is it needs to be interesting to BOINC crunchers. Thus space based Sci-Fi game with a strong accent on Sci!
Key features:
- BOINC server would run scientific calculations, results would be used to create or modify items’ properties.
- In game items would be divided into classes and be exclusively available for different currencies. At first it felt as a forced solution, but it would have positive impact on secondary market development and also should make players more interested in the other blockchain.
This concept, however, requires quite a big team of skilled people and is highly sophisticated. There fore I’ve searched for an idea of the project that would be easier to implement, but would allow to acquire experience in blockchain game development and to build the team.
Meet Unicorn
Working on the concept of the simple game it wouldn’t be me if things would not become complicated! This is a concept of the environmental, educational game / app. However, BOINC server requirement is cut off.
While there is still science involved, it’s mostly on popular science level instead of Ph.D. from good university level. Importantly, no need to run BOINC server.
There is a few blockchains that are candidates for the sibling blockchain in this project. Despite some drawbacks, due to lively and dynamic community, intensive development and already two popular games deployed my top candidate at the moment is Steem.
Project has to generate income, but I’m against any pyramid schemes. It has to grow organically and last for years. It would be rather low paced game, at least in the main realistic mode. The fantasy mode would allow for daily action for hard gamers, but I’m not a fan of daily quests where one needs to pointlessly click thousands of times to kill hundreds of weak wolves or goblins to rise XP.
Who I’m looking for:
- Developer(s) – probably node.js/JS is the best choice, maybe django/python (if Steem)
- Artist / Designer
- Researcher – someone who cares about environment and loves animals, who could do some basic research and write some texts and also take care about some media channels / community
