I've been looking into this over the past couple of days... I really want to give it a shot, I heard getting it running on my machine will be pretty difficult though
Running BOINC is in fact easier than running most (if not all) PoW miners. BOINC has been around for a long time, it has full GUI interface and runs on pretty much every hardware. Adding Gridcoin onto it is also not difficult, especially if you join a pool. If you run into trouble, we have Slack, IRC and Reddit where you can get support quickly. Or just post a new text here on Steemit, tag it Gridcoin and someone will get to it.
