I'm pretty sure the rule not to upvote was so it wouldn't screw the order of the comments up for OP.
If you wanna lecture me about comments needing more upvotes, I think you might have barked up the wrong tree. I've been mentioning comments not getting enough attention or having an incentive ever since July when they removed the rewards for them.
Have fun upvoting your alt accounts though.

Like another poster said, if I was using alt accounts I wouldn't upvote my own posts and draw attention to it.

Indeed, that's why I mentioned it, but apparently getting self-defensive and starting a reply hunt is more fun than just excusing yourself.

regarding alt accounts: it's not like you're more likely to win when there's an upvote. If I was secretly guessing with an alt account personally I probably would be sure to not upvote it lol. The upvotes are probably just random or for whatever reason someone says it's for. Sometimes people click a button, you know? You might be right that bola wants the order to stay in tact, but accusing people of playing with alts isn't necessary and it might be why you were met with some defensiveness.
