Stocks usually don't "moon". If so, there's a fundamental catalyst.
Although, to amswer your question: when stocks start a ranging market, a big move is very likely to happen due to the imbalance between supply and demand, that was developed during the range.
In addiction, I don't aggree with the elliot analysis during the range. I belive that Elliot wave theory is used during trending markets.
