A picture of Marcus, The Worm.
Yes, i know I'm a little late but hey i am also human and i was enjoying Halloween by watching all the sequence of the Scream movies while eating ice cream and doing push ups, you know how it is. I also got the pleasure to get to know a nice creature, a worm maybe? that's trending on Instagram due to VRChat game plays and his name is Marcus, a very big worm with a deep voice and some deep thoughts, he is friends with Robert, who takes care of him, or her, i thought it was an AI but someone said Marcus was actually a Chinese woman with a text to voice device configured to a deep male voice which explains his delay in talking. Which i stupidly thought was to make whatever he says sound cool. ANYWAY, i got lost here, after meeting Marcus and Robert and getting some what confused that someone might have envisioned this, since it's Halloween, i rightfully thought about enjoying it looking for other kinds of creatures which have threatened humanity's mind for long periods of time. So now, behold my yapping about mythology's monsters.
Acephali

The Acephali were human-like creatures believed to have lived in Libya. The Acephali had their faces on their chests because their heads were removed by the gods as a result of a rebellion. In ancient depictions and writings, the Acephali were often portrayed as enemies to be overcome, or as marvels from the fringes of the known world, showcasing the exotic and the unknown.
Some managed to find their severed heads and carry them under their arms. The word Acephali literally means "headless". These creatures were primarily mentioned in the works of Herodotus and Josephus.
Al-mi'raj

I bet you're already scared of this one from Rezero Subaru's terrible death. At least i was. Being torn into a thousand pieces doesn't sound very funny. But this one is for my one and only special reader.
This creature on our list of mythical creatures comes from the East. Al-mi'raj is a mythical creature in Islamic mythology that is basically a hare (rabbit) with a single horn on its forehead, much like a unicorn. The Al-mi'raj lived on a mysterious island called Jezîrat al-Tennyn in the Indian Ocean. Despite its harmless appearance, this beast could kill creatures much larger than itself by stabbing them with its horn and then devouring them. According to belief, only a true witch could render the Al-mi'raj harmless, ensuring that others would approach and take the beast away.
Loup Garou

As someone who was once deeply involved with catholicism, this one used to give me the creeps, much like watching the movie Jeepers Creepers as a child, i remember some parent invented that the seventh son of a family that became a priest would somehow turn into a werewolf and it just increased my dislike for this kind of creature.
Loup Garou is one of the most popular mythical monsters worldwide, joining our list of French Cajun and Canadian folklore. Also known as Rougarou, this creature is essentially French and Cajun, equivalent to a werewolf. A person becomes a Loup Garou if subjected to a specific Loup Garou curse. On the other hand, French Catholics believed that a person would become a Loup Garou if they broke the rules of Lent for 7 consecutive years. These are very agile and strong creatures. They are weak against fire, which is considered by many to be the only way to kill them. Cutting off the head or dismembering the entire body are believed to be other ways to kill a it.
Empousa

I must say this one is very charming, i had yet to know about another old vampire tale other than Dracula, Lilith, Succubi or Incubi type of creature. Specially from greek mythology.
Hecate's daughter was anything but friendly. She was a deity who drank the blood of men while they slept and was reduced to the status of a monstrosity that devoured night travelers. Empousa is often described as a female demon or monster, and her legend is associated with stories of seduction and terror. According to the myth, Empousa had the ability to shapeshift and often took the form of a beautiful woman to seduce travelers, especially young men. After seducing them, she would then reveal her true form—often described as having one leg of bronze and the other of a donkey—and terrify them or drive them mad. Empousa was also associated with vampirism or cannibalism in some versions of the myth, sucking the blood or devouring the flesh of her victims. Her figure is a classic example of the "femme fatale" archetype in Greek mythology, representing both desire and danger.
Typhon

Again from greek mythology cause i'm flabbergast like, what do you mean Tartarus is a TITAN??? I THOUGHT IT WAS A PLACE?! like hell or something, anyway this creature's nature is dope as fuck and it's as scary as it's name. You know, Typhon, a very huge storm.
It was the most fearsome mythological monster, even defeating Zeus by tearing out his muscles, veins, and nerves – later restored by Hermes. It was born of Gaia and Tartarus and offered to Hera in the form of a seed. The goddess, unaware of the trap, planted the seed on Olympus, and from it sprouted, in the very heart of the divine realm, the monster that drove the gods – except Athena – to Egypt. Zeus returned armed with the same weapon Cronus had used to castrate Uranus, but he fared worse and was destroyed – literally – by the monstrous creature. After being reconstituted by Hermes, Zeus exacted his revenge and imprisoned Typhon on Mount Etna, where Hephaestus kept him under the weight of his largest anvils.

How does it feel to know so many monsters now? is you brain bigger? are your eyes widder looking with expectancy to the rabbit hole you now are aware of?
